Dalia is praying for a Passover miracle. Passover has such a special place in my heart. It is a part of our history as a people, but it is also part of our future. Each ritual reminds me of God’s promise of deliverance and His faithfulness—then and now. You probably know the powerful Exodus story that is the foundation of Passover. God was faithful to deliver the Jewish people from slavery and oppression. Passover reminds us that God is good and has the power to deliver us, as Psalm 34:8 says, ‘Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.’ There are things God wants us to be free from even today. Perhaps you have experienced deliverance from the pain of your past, from hunger or sickness, or from hate and persecution. If so, then you know what true freedom is all about. That’s what you and I should celebrate this Passover. Let’s celebrate, not just with our words, but also through sights, tastes, smells, and, most of all, by the way we live. Today, poor and elderly Jews still cling to the promise of deliverance. Only today it is for food and other essentials for survival. Which is why I need to tell you about Dalia. Dalia lives alone in a tiny flat in a poor neighborhood in Israel. A small pension is her only income and it’s never enough to cover food and other essentials. She often goes hungry. With Passover approaching, Dalia doesn’t know if she will have enough to eat at all, much less prepare for Passover. Her deep poverty has repeatedly left her unable to celebrate the miracle of God’s deliverance of His people. But this year can be different with your help. Someone like Dalia DESERVES a Passover miracle. Your gift of only $25 today will share a Passover miracle with poverty-stricken families and the poorest Jewish households in Israel, Ukraine, the former Soviet Union (FSU), and other places of need. For those in desperate need, your help is a lifesaving miracle all year long—but they especially need your help right now for Passover. Will you allow God to work a miracle through YOU to deliver much needed food to impoverished and elderly Jews this Passover?
