Read below to learn what the most important component is when it comes to being mentally, physically and SPIRITUALLY fit! In 1 Timothy chapter 4, Paul encourages Timothy to guard his ministry and not be swayed by false teachings. We too can learn how to avoid making some critical mistakes in our spiritual lives from this portion of scripture. I highly recommend reading the whole chapter. It’s only 16 verses long, so save yourself the excuse that you don’t have time… it’ll only take like a couple of minutes to read it! So many good points are mentioned in this portion of scripture, but there was one verse in particular that really stood out to me. It really hit home, as I have been on a mission to get fit mentally, physically and spiritually. 1 Timothy 4:8 KJV - “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” In this verse, I’m reminded that we are not to put more focus on our bodily fitness than our godliness/spiritual fitness. That’s due to the fact that our spiritual walk has eternal value. Of course we are supposed to take care of the bodies God has blessed us with here on earth… but He doesn’t want our physical fitness to take priority over our spiritual fitness. We exercise to make our bodies stronger. We eat healthy foods to provide our bodies with the nutrients that are essential for proper function. While those are great ways to care for our bodies in a physical aspect, there is more to it than that. It’s far more important that we are spending time each day conditioning our spiritual fitness. How do we do that exactly? I’m glad you asked! Here are some examples: Studying God’s word Praying Meditating on the scriptures Praising/Worshipping God for His goodness I am learning that the key to being truly fit is finding and maintaining a proper balance between our spiritual, mental and physical wellness! I hope this encourages someone else today! #thursday #thursdaythoughts #thursdaymood #foodforthought #spiritual #physical #mental #health #healthylifestyle #fitness #mentality #1timothy4 #kjv #Bible #God #Jesus #feedyoursoul #exercise #workout #wellness #wellnessjourney #truth #motivation #reels #lifestyle #lifestylechange #devotion #devotional #kingdomminded #eternal #shorts Read below to learn what the most important component is when it comes to being mentally, physically and SPIRITUALLY fit!
