I AM a SURVIVOR... I AM not GOING to GIVE UP... I AM not GOING to STOP.... I AM going to WORK HARDER and COME BACK STRONGER This PAST YEAR has been one of the TOUGHEST YEARS of my LIFE. I TOOK alot of LOSSES and had to take a STEP BACK. I found MYSELF DROWNING in SORROW. I could FEEL MYSELF going to A DARK PLACE. ASKING MYSELF what is LIFE and WHO AM I in this world. I CHOSE to ISOLATE MYSELF, to BLOCK OUT the WORLD, TO ELIMINATE all TOXIC THINGS in my life and TO FINALLY DO the DEEP INNER WORK that MY SOUL so much NEEDED. I AM known as the STRONG ONE, the one that "CANT POSSIBLY BREAK". The one who always makes like everything is fine on the outside but on the inside my soul is crying. I FINALLY came to my BREAKING POINT and I SURRENDERED. Instead of TURNING OUTWARD I turned INWARD and ALLOWED GOD to finally BREAK IT DOWN for me PIECE by PIECE so that I COULD FINALLY get the PEACE and HEALING I needed. GOD gave me PEACE in the MIDST of so MANY EXTERNAL and INTERNAL STORMS I had to face LAST Year. In a time I was SUPPOSED TO break, he GAVE ME STRENGTH. I BELIEVE GOD has SO MANY AMAZING THINGS in store for ME. I am at that POINT IN MY LIFE where I want to LIVE A LIFE OF PURPOSE. I DONT WANT to MISS MY MARK, I want to DO THINGS that make my SOUL SMILE and that will MAKE GOD PROUD. THE enemy is trying his HARDEST to BREAK ME DOWN. But the DEVIL is a LIAR for GREATER IS HE that is WITHIN ME than HE is that is within THIS WORLD. That means if GOD IS IN ME I CAN DO ALL THINGS #CANDYGURL #YOUAREPHENOMENALSA #TESTIMONY #SHARINGISCARING #STRONG #STRONGWOMAN #GODISGOOD #GODSPLAN

Happy Birthday!!! Over 20 years ago this beautiful woman stepped into a role at the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home. Little did she know that her role as a social worker would one day develop into the role of Mom to me. I remember walking into her office for our weekly social work meetings. She had this cork board filled with pinned family photos. I never forgot the pride and love that exuded when she would share about her nieces and nephews! I remember wishing I was on someone’s cork board with such pride. 6 years later I wouldn’t find myself on her cork board but in her home and her heart as #daughter . I don’t take for granted the place I hold on the wall of her home. A picture above the fireplace is a reminder of God’s #faithfulness In one of the most #isolating and #depressing times of my life she showed up to take me out to dinner where she would quote Psalm 68:6 “God places the lonely in family.” At that point in my life I felt and believed I had already failed the test of being able to have and do family right. The tornado at @unionuniversity would force me into a trust season where I let her and her husband be family to me … and long story short … God #redeemed and made right a place for me in family. The #safety #loyalty #wisdom and #support has been and continues to be the example of motherhood she has given so that on gleaning from her I may now give it to my sons. I am so grateful that you never gave up in pursuing me! I praise God that He brought me you as Mom - not like a Mom but my Mom. You grafted me into the family just like #Christ has grafted us into His family. Thank you for being #strong and full of #steady #truth I am forever grateful for you and do not take for granted the gift you’ve given in placing me not just as a picture in your home but in your heart. I love you, Mom!

Today’s Word ~ January 30, 2023 What Would Jesus Do ~ Today’s Scripture 1 Corinthians 10:13 God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. ~ Today’s Word One evening King David walked around on the roof of his palace and saw a beautiful young lady taking a bath. Whenever we face temptation, God will always have a moment of grace, a time where you have the strength to resist and walk away. But that moment of grace doesn't last hour after hour. Right at the start, you have to be disciplined and do the right thing. David let his guard down and one compromise led to another. Life brings us certain defining moments that not only affect us, but they affect our children and future generations. When you're in a situation where you're tempted to compromise, to get upset, to be bitter, every voice tells you, "Just do it. It’s not going to hurt anything." Don't believe those lies. When those tempting thoughts come, get them out of your mind. That's the battlefield. If you let it stay, it's going to draw you in and lead you to compromise. It's going to affect your destiny. ~ Prayer for Today Father, thank You that You promise a way of escape for any temptation I face. Help me to guard my mind and heart and be strong to resist temptation and compromise. I declare that even in the small things I will do what I know in my heart is right and live with integrity. In Jesus' Name, Amen. #todaysword #dailydevotional #godsword #temptation #morelikeGod #disciplined #strong #staystrong #persevere #wwjd #belikejesus #morelikeJesus
