Dear Friend, When God wants to do something on the earth, He looks for a person who will believe Him. God always requires an act of faith. When Jesus came to the tomb of Lazarus, he told the friends of Lazarus, “Remove the stone.” There was a big stone in front of the tomb and, although God could have removed the stone with an earthquake or an angel, He had another person remove the stone. Removing the stone was an act of faith. Let’s look at this story in the Word of God: Jesus said, “Remove the stone.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11:39,40 (NASB) The Lord Jesus loved Lazarus and his sisters. He loves you and me, too. But in order for Jesus to reveal His power and glory on earth, He needs our faith. Chances are, He will require an act of faith—even something as simple as removing a tomb stone or touching the clothing of an anointed man or woman of God. Dear Friend, We are living in the last days and as evil forces move forward to threaten our peace, our health, and our stability, always remember that NOTHING can prevail against God’s Word. God’s Word is life! It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 (NKJV) I tell you that God’s Word will bring LIFE to your peace, your health, and your stability. When you speak God’s Word out loud with your mouth, you are speaking life. You can bring what you need and what this world needs from the supernatural into this physical world. Think about it. You are born of God and created to do His work on the earth! For He says that we are His own handiwork. His workmanship recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew that we may do those good works which God has predestined and has planned beforehand for us. Dear Friend, John the Baptist was an incredible prophet. Even Jesus said that there was no one greater born of women than John the Baptist. Even so, John struggled at one point after being thrown into prison. He wondered if he did something wrong. He even questioned whether or not Jesus was really the Messiah or did he miss it when he prophesied about Jesus? John the Baptist was an outdoorsman who knew how to rough it. He survived by living in the wilderness, mostly alone, eating wild locusts and honey. He must have been a sight to behold dressed in clothes made of camel’s hair and leather! John called the common people and kings to repent and, when he saw Jesus coming near while he was baptizing people, John knew immediately that Jesus was the Christ. He even declared openly, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!” (See John 1:29). When trials came and he was thrown into prison, his public ministry shut down, and faithful friends were few, John began to question himself and his calling. John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?” Matthew 11:2,3 (NLT) Are you going through a trial right now? Are you in a place where you are questioning yourself or your calling? Take courage, my friend. Speak those things that God showed you from the start. God’s Word is alive in you! Dear Friend, We don’t have to be a weak, wimpy, or whiny Christian. God has given us a choice in life. We get to choose what we think about, what we talk about, and what we believe. If we listen to the devil, we will stay depressed and oppressed. If we listen to God, we will be on top. I’m told that 87% of sickness is due to depression and oppression. Only 13% of sickness is due to poor diet and environment. We need to be careful what thoughts we allow to stay in our minds. Proverbs 23:7 says that as we think in our minds, that’s who we really are throughout our day. God even tells us what to think about: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 (NASB) Do you have a favorite scripture that you know is true? Think about that verse this week. What memory comes to mind when you hear God encourage you to think about things that are pure, lovely, and right? Think about that memory this week. Remember, God gives us the choice of what we think about and what we say. We are free to choose. This week, let’s choose Philippians 4:8 thoughts!
