We all need to know that we’re seen, heard, and wanted; we need to experience that people are glad to see us. This is how Jesus feels about you! Jesus delights in your company! He opens his heart to you. He forgives your sins. He wants to encourage you and to guide you on the path of life with him. Give your burdens to Jesus and let him give you rest (Matt. 11:28). Talk to him when you’re anxious, receive his empathy, and let him put you at peace (Phil. 4:6). No matter what happens your soul will be safe in his hands (John 10:28). He will never leave you (Heb. 13:5). Jesus is your Good Shepherd and he will be with you, comforting you and protecting you on your journey (Ps. 23). With Jesus on your side your future is bright and full of hope! His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you (Jer. 29:11), to give you abundant life (John 10:10) now and forever (John 3:36). So call to the Lord and he will answer you (Jer. 33:3); listen and you will hear his voice directing you (Is. 30:21); tune into your heart and you will sense his instructions (Psalm 16:7). His Holy Spirit will be your Counselor (John 14:15,26; 16:7). Trust in him and he will direct your path (Prov. 3:4-5) and bless you wonderfully (Eph. 1:3). Follow Jesus and then you can exclaim, along with the Apostle John, I am the disciple Jesus loves! (John 13:23; 19:26; 20:2; 21:7, 20). . . . #soulshepherding #christianquotes #christiantruth #christianlife #bibletruth #godsgrace #biblestudy #dailydevotion #devotiontime #biblestudymoments #devotions #christianliving #faithquotes #graceupongrace #jesuslovers #jesuslife #jesusquotes #jesustime #scripturestudy #scriptureoftheday #scrpitures #dailyscripture #biblequote #identityinchrist #trustgodalways #trustgodsplan #donotbeanxious #peacequote #calmyourmind #christianblog

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body...whether...good or bad." 2 Corinthians 5:10 I am fast approaching the allotted "threescore years and ten" (Psalm 90:10). The reality of facing God and Christ, either through the Rapture or death, confronts me with increasing impact. Often, outdoors at night, looking up at the stars and contemplating the vastness of the universe, I confess to the Lord that the thought of facing Him beyond the grave strikes fear into my heart. This fleeting life, which is "even a vapour that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (James 4:14), will very soon have passed entirely into history with no hope of changing it. The staggering reality of eternity will encompass me. It is not that I doubt my salvation. I have never had the slightest question about that since the night some 55 years ago when I received Christ into my heart as my Savior and Lord. There is no fear of hell or judgment, for I believe His Word that He has paid the penalty for my sins and has given me eternal life as a free gift of His unmerited grace. I have the wonderful and absolute assurance that I will "never perish" (John 10:28)! What I fear is the awesomeness of God himself. Who can stand in His presence! We are such frail creatures, so pitifully blind to God's truth, so slow to learn His will and to understand His Word and ways. We have nothing of which to boast or in which to take comfort except for His grace and love. Yet we so easily forget that we are here for only a fleeting moment; we act as though this life were all there is and that it will never end. What could be greater folly! #DailyDevotions The Good Shepherd, February 17 I am the good shepherd.—John 10:11. {HB 64.1} Every soul is as fully known to Jesus as if he or she were the only one for whom the Saviour died. The distress of every one touches His heart. The cry for aid reaches His ear. He came to draw all unto Himself. He bids them, “Follow Me,” and His Spirit moves upon their hearts to draw them to come to Him. Many refuse to be drawn. Jesus knows who they are. He also knows who gladly hear His call, and are ready to come under His pastoral care. He says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27.) He cares for each one as if there were not another on the face of the earth. . . . {HB 64.2} It is not the fear of punishment, or the hope of everlasting reward, that leads the disciples of Christ to follow Him. They behold the Saviour’s matchless love, revealed throughout His pilgrimage on earth, from the manger of Bethlehem to Calvary’s cross, and the sight of Him attracts, it softens and subdues the soul. Love awakens in the heart of the beholders. They hear His voice, and they follow Him. {HB 64.3} As the shepherd goes before his sheep, himself first encountering the perils of the way, so does Jesus with His people. “When He putteth forth His own sheep, He goeth before them.” (John 10:4.) The way to heaven is consecrated by the Saviour’s footprints. The path may be steep and rugged, but Jesus has traveled that way; His feet have pressed down the cruel thorns, to make the pathway easier for us. Every burden that we are called to bear He Himself has borne. {HB 64.4} Though now He has ascended to the presence of God, and shares the throne of the universe, Jesus has lost none of His compassionate nature. Today the same tender, sympathizing heart is open to all the woes of humanity. Today the hand that was pierced is reached forth to bless more abundantly His people that are in the world. “And they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.” (John 10:28.) The soul that has given himself to Christ is more precious in His sight than the whole world. The Saviour would have passed through the agony of Calvary that one might be saved in His kingdom. He will never abandon one for whom He has died. Unless His followers choose to leave Him, He will hold them fast.—The Desire of Ages, 480-483. {HB 64.5} #HomewardBound (HB) -- beta.egwwritings.org
