Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Sometimes we care so much that it hurts. In those moments, we either sigh and turn our back or keep the hope that our lovingkindness will finally convey the message that the other person is loved and not alone in the fight in Jesus. Jesus cared so much that He took upon Himself the suffering and death that would have been on us on the cross. He didn't give up. He looked at His offenders with compassion and forgiveness. Should we stop loving and caring? Jesus, now seated at the right hand of the Father, still patiently does and intercedes for us that we keep the faith, to be always strong and courageous, and be like Him until He comes. Jesus is not leaving us. He will not. That’s His promise. And so are we to those whom God has entrusted to us along the way. One of the strongest and most persistent fears that people experience is the fear that they won't have enough of what they need. We want to feel safe in every area of life. We want to be secure in our belief that we will have what we need when we need it. This fear can lead to an ungrateful heart, because it brings the feeling that there is never enough. It is best to ask God for what we want and need and then focus on what we do have instead of what we don't have. God's Word says that we are not to fear because He is with us. It is just that simple: "Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you" (Isaiah 41:10). Thankfully, He has everything we need and He loves us. So like any loving parent, He will provide for us. He has promised to never leave or forsake us. We can be thankful that He never sleeps, He is ever-present, and He keeps watch over us with loving care. Father, I am thankful that You provide all that I need and so much more. I refuse to live in fear, wondering if I will have enough. Thank You that You are a God who does immeasurably more than I could ask or imagine. In Jesus' name, Amen!
