Jesus is speaking to you from the Bible. Will you believe what he says? "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. “Believe in God; believe also in me. "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." Dear friend, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household. To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent. Would you like to pray with us? “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29 NKJV) Did Jesus ever claim to be God? As a matter of fact, He did. For example, He said, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:23–24 NKJV). That was a clear statement of equality with God the Father. We also know that on many occasions, Jesus accepted worship, something that was reserved for God alone. In fact, in the wilderness, when the Devil tempted Jesus to worship him, Jesus quoted Scripture: “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve” (Matthew 4:10 NKJV). Jesus was underscoring the fact that worship is to be given to God alone. Yet, He accepted worship on many occasions. If He was not God, then He would have immediately stopped the people who worshiped Him. As we read in the book of Revelation, an angel revealed some great truths to the apostle John. As a result, John was so overwhelmed that he fell down to worship the angel. But the angel told him, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God” (21:9 NKJV). Yet Jesus accepted worship. We find an example of this after the resurrection, when He appeared before Thomas, who said, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28 NKJV). Jesus replied, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (verse 29 NKJV). Now, if Jesus wasn’t God, He would have basically said, “Thomas, stop right now! That’s blasphemy!” But Jesus accepted worship because He was—and is—indeed God. https://hubs.la/Q01v_7dg0

When Jesus heard this, he was marveled and said to those following him, ‘Truly I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith." Matthew 8:10 I love reading this story in the bible of this one centurion made an impression on the Messiah. This one had more faith than anyone he had seen in Israel. He’d told Jesus he knew Jesus could heal his servant by simply commanding it to happen. Over the years in my walk with the Lord I’ve often wondered what it means to have great faith. I’ve wondered, what was it about the centurion that made his faith so remarkable? I think the answer is found in what the centurion says in the verses before this (Matthew 8:8-9). He had the command and the respect of hundreds. He gave the order and they obeyed. He had power and authority unlike many in Israel. But he humbled himself before Jesus, claiming he was not even worthy to have Jesus in his home. Love. Humility. Faith. I think it’s fair to say these traits characterized the centurion. And here’s what’s exciting: they can characterize us too. We are already blessed because we believe, but have not seen (John 20:29). And with the Holy Spirit living in us and through us as believers, giving us access to the One who marked the heavens with the breadth of His hands, Jesus being marveled at his faith” isn’t confined to the story of the centurion. I hope this encourages you like it does me to pause and ask ourselves this question — Do I recognize who Jesus really is and reach out to Him in humility? Do I approach Jesus in total dependence on His kindness and righteousness to provide for what I need? If not, pray for the Lord to search your heart and show you what it means to have great faith.
