GOSSIP IS CRUEL AND MALICIOUS. IT BREAKS HEART AND RUINED LIVES.
WHAT IS GOSSIP?
Gossip is talking about someone or slandering them behind their backs that creates a negative image.
Gossiping others is speaking destructively about others in their absence.
Gossip is a negative spirit that is bent towards hurting others rather than helping them.
Gossip is degrading and defamatory information that you have on someone that you share with someone else.
GOSSIPING is revealing embarrassing or shameful information regarding the lives of others to someone else
GOSSIP IS NOT ALWAYS FALSE. IT IS SOMETIMES TRUE BUT ALWAYS NEGATIVE.
Gossip is also an excessive interest in the affairs of others. Paul calls us the busybodies, sticking our nose where it does not belong.
Gossip destroys churches and separate Christians. Gossip ruin marriages and separate friends. Gossip causes sleepless nights and heartbreaks. Gossipers are murderers and character assinators. They kill other people spirits. Gossip is a sin that spread hatred.
Proverbs 18:7-8 (KJV)
8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
A gossiper brings destruction to his or her soul.
Proverbs 13:3 (KJV) He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

what Ephesians 4:29 is saying ,you should not allow any dirty or polluting language, nor evil words nor unwholesome or worthless talk to ever come out of your mouth, but only speech that is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it.
As believers you should not GOSSIP others .

Gossip tarnish the reputation of others . GOSSIP undermines the character of church leaders and believers and cause others to lose respect for them .
GOSSIP is poisonous, malicious and cruel. It bites like a poisonous snake. It cause pain and grief to its victims
GOSSIP break hearts and ruin lives
Proverbs 11:9 KJV An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
In Romans 1:29-32 teaches that the sin of GOSSIP is considered wicked and those who practices GOSSIP is worthy of Death.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

In this passage Gossipers or whisperers are classified with unbelievers, people who rejects God,people who donot want to retain God in their knowledge
GOSSIP walks with its evil twin SLANDER. A GOSSIPER IS ALSO A WHISPERER.
TO SLANDER IS spreading rumours or lies about a person to spitefully damage his or her character.
When we listen to GOSSIP we are giving the ENEMY foothold in our lives. When we GOSSIP others we are acting in the capacity of agents for the devil
Sometimes somebody may be in the wrong for example they are a thief and you are sure that they are a thief, don't go and tell someone else that Marcia is thief . That is destructive ,that is maligning the person character and if Marcia hear she will be hurt.
So don't spread unkind words about others. Eventhough you know that whatever you are saying about Marcia is true.
It would be best to address Marcia privately and correct her in love. Tell her in a nice tone that stealing is wrong and God hates it and supported by the words of God
One of the two greatest Commandments is to love thy neighbor as thyself and telling everyone that Marcia is a thief is not spreading love.
Also do not use your mouth to tell lies. Do not use your mouth for evil. But use your mouth to do the things that glorify God for example. Spreading the good news of salvation and correcting others in love( in a nice tone) according to the words of God.
Do not use your mouth to spread rumours . Do not use your mouth for defamation of the character of others
Do not use you your mouth to tear down others. Use your tongue for the beneficial for the spiritual progress of others. Use it to build them up. Use your mouth to spread kindness and love
MALIGN means to speak about someone in a spiteful critical manner

what Ephesians 4:29 is saying ,you should not allow any dirty or polluting language, nor evil words nor unwholesome or worthless talk to ever come out of your mouth, but only speech that is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it.
As believers you should not GOSSIP others .

THE DANGERS OF GOSSIPING
It Destroys homes, communities, marriages,churches and Society at large
It cause divisions in the body of Christ. It cause havoc in churches and separate Christians
Gossip tarnish the reputation of others . GOSSIP undermines the character of church leaders and believers and cause others to lose respect for them .
GOSSIP is poisonous, malicious and cruel. It bites like a poisonous snake. It cause pain and grief to its victims
GOSSIP break hearts and ruin lives
Proverbs 11:9 KJV An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
In Romans 1:29-32 teaches that the sin of GOSSIP is considered wicked and those who practices GOSSIP is worthy of Death.
Romans 1:28-32 KJV
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them
In this passage Gossipers or whisperers are classified with unbelievers, people who rejects God,people who donot want to retain God in their knowledge
GOSSIP walks with its evil twin SLANDER. A GOSSIPER IS ALSO A WHISPERER.
TO SLANDER IS spreading rumours or lies about a person to spitefully damage his or her character.
When we listen to GOSSIP we are giving the ENEMY foothold in our lives. When we GOSSIP others we are acting in the capacity of agents for the devil
Sometimes somebody may be in the wrong for example they are a thief and you are sure that they are a thief, don't go and tell someone else that Marcia is thief . That is destructive ,that is maligning the person character and if Marcia hear she will be hurt.
So don't spread unkind words about others. Eventhough you know that whatever you are saying about Marcia is true.
It would be best to address Marcia privately and correct her in love. Tell her in a nice tone that stealing is wrong and God hates it and supported by the words of God
One of the two greatest Commandments is to love thy neighbor as thyself and telling everyone that Marcia is a thief is not spreading love.
Also do not use your mouth to tell lies. Do not use your mouth for evil. But use your mouth to do the things that glorify God for example. Spreading the good news of salvation and correcting others in love( in a nice tone) according to the words of God.
Do not use your mouth to spread rumours . Do not use your mouth for defamation of the character of others
Do not use you your mouth to tear down others. Use your tongue for the beneficial for the spiritual progress of others. Use it to build them up. Use your mouth to spread kindness and love
MALIGN means to speak about someone in a spiteful critical manner
