Recently, as I was praying on the roof of the Casa, a huge flock of birds flew overhead. As I look back on the photo I grabbed, I can’t help but think of Luke 12:6-7: “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Sometimes it can feel like the difficult things in our lives will overwhelm us, or that we will be buried beneath them and separated from God. But God is always there, less than a heartbeat away when we call on him. May we find peace like the sparrows do in knowing how God always provides for our every need.
