“God then took His Word and nailed it to the cross, lifting it/Him up for all to see the disarming of all the authority against us (Colossians 2:14-15, Romans 8:1).” God Nails His Word to the Cross (Another Aspect of the Multidimensional Spotless Sacrifice) ——— Jesus IS the Word (John 1:1-5,14, Colossians 1:15-20). He nailed Himself to the cross (John 10:17-18). God took the Word which stood against us, showing our separation from His holiness and that which convicts us, He brought it down before us to behold; on full display for us and the spiritual authorities. After sufficient time and evidences in speech and action, complete with miracles showing authority over creation itself and being the very fulfillment of the Word spoken through the prophets, confirming Jesus is the Word of God, sent from God to us (John 17:4,8), God then took His Word and nailed it to the cross, lifting it/Him up for all to see the disarming of all the authority against us (Colossians 2:14-15, Romans 8:1). Because ultimately the Word is FOR all who will believe, not against (John 3:17, Romans 8:31). The believer’s sin nature is now concealed by the Word which suffered the death due us. The Word can now, and does now, live forever within the believer in Christ -written on our hearts and having the seal of God- and the believer lives forever in the Word since the Word is alive forevermore having completed His work of reconciliation to God. The Word only remains opposed to the disbelieving - a category of persons including those claiming to believe yet do not believe God fully took care of the sin problem for them by nailing the Word to the cross and rising from the depths of death. The believer is guaranteed to rise just as Christ has. Our salvation is begun by God Himself (Philippians 1:6). He chose us (Romans 8:30) and our salvation is finished by God Himself (Hebrews 12:2, 9:12,26, John 19:28-30). The prideful man says “I have the strength to hold onto my salvation”. He stands condemned. The Humble man says “I am too weak, into Your hands I *commend my spirit Lord” (Luke 23:46). This humble one accepts what God has already achieved because he knows the love of God. He trusts the strength of God’s hand (John 10:28-30, Romans 8:38-39, John 6:37-39, Psalm 136:12, 1 Peter 5:6). God is with this humble one, but he “never knew” the prideful one (Matthew 7:21-23, John 6:40). It is the unbelieving heart that makes God’s Word an opponent rather than the Word of God making the person His opponent (John 3:18). His Word conquered death for you. The Word is His Love. God is Love and the Word is for you. God and His Word is the perfect and supreme example for us to learn from. He offers perfect, complete, total forgiveness while we are yet doing everything to make Him our enemy. And since we all did make Him our enemy at some point, He came and suffered death on a cross for any such enemy to come join Him in unity through His love before the day when the enemy of God is dealt with in finality. Knowingly, God lowered Himself from the royal height of heaven to the form of a humble mortal servant for purpose of His own death in horrific fashion, even for people who would have Him dead. Who among us could do such a thing? Has there ever been a greater offering of Peace? Anyone who is thirsty, come and drink; a spring of everlasting life will well up in you (says the Word). Rest In Peace *Commend: ARCHAIC•FORMAL entrust someone or something to. "I commend them to your care" #Jesus #Salvation #TheWord #TheCross

WHO IS JESUS? People have different opinions about who Jesus is. Some believes that He is a prophet, some said that He is just a great teacher, and other believed that He was just a historical figure. Other religions said that Jesus is also God but not equal to the Father. Did you know my brethren, if you read the whole New Testament, you'll see that your eternal life is fully depending on Him. Jesus said, " I am the way,and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." ( John 14:6 ) JESUS IS FULLY MAN AND FULLY GOD Humanity of Jesus; He was conceived through virgin birth. He had physical body that experienced growth. When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. And the child grew and become strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. ( Luke 2:39-40 ) Hunger- After fasting forty days and 40 nights, he was hungry. ( Matthew 4:2 ) Tiredness- Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. (John 4:6 ) Death - Jesus called out with a loud voice, " Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last. (Luke 23:46 ) Divinity of Jesus; He was with God at the creation. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1 ) The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. ( John1:14 ) He teaches with authority. He receives Worship. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, " Truly you are the Son of God." ( Matthew 14:33 ) Suddenly Jesus met them. " Greetings, " he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. ( Matthew 28:9 ) Then the man said, " Lord, I believe," and he worshiped him. ( John 9:38 ) Thomas said to him, " My Lord and my God! " ( John 20:28 ) " Jesus said to them, " Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am. " " I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, " before Abraham was born, I am! " ( John 8:58 ) The importance of this truth in terms of our salvation is that the humanity of Jesus proved that there has been a sacrificial death that happened on the cross. There was a body and death, above all, it has been Resurrected. Without the death, there has been no resurrection and without the shedding of blood, there will be no forgiveness of sin. His Divinity is also important because only God has no sin. A sinner cannot save another sinner. Jesus has to fully God to save us. He said to me: " It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End . To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life." ( Revelation 21:6 ) Jesus is coming; " Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book." ( Revelation 22:7 ) " Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." " Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city." ( Revelation 22:12-14 ) " I Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star." ( Revelation 22:16 ) It is not too late in your life, to recognize Jesus as our Lord and Savior of our lives. God Nails His Word to the Cross (Another Aspect of the Multidimensional Spotless Sacrifice) ——— Jesus IS the Word (John 1:1-5,14, Colossians 1:15-20). If you’ve ever read the first three Gospels in the New Testament, you don’t have to be a scholar to notice that Matthew, Mark, and Luke are similar to one another. In fact, Matthew, Mark, and Luke are so similar that they have been called the “Synoptic” Gospels which comes from a Greek word meaning “seen together”. Mark has a total of 661 verses and about 90% have some parallel in Matthew and about 65% of Mark’s verses are paralleled in Luke. In addition, there are about 230 verses that Luke and Matthew have in common that don’t appear in Mark. Most scholars are convinced that the Synoptic Gospels are copying one another. It is difficult to explain the similarities in wording, similarities in order, similarities in parenthetical notes, and similarities in Old Testament quotations without positing some theory of literary dependence. So, who copied who Mark's gospel has about 660 verses, all but twenty or so of which reappear in Matthew and Luke. Matthew reproduces almost 600 of Mark's verses and Luke about 300. The Synoptic Gospels don’t tell the same version of all their stories. But there are strong similarities among them that set them apart from John. It has long been known that the reason they agree on so much is that they all shared the same sources. Both Matthew and Luke, for example, used Mark, reproducing it verbatim in places and changing it—sometimes changing it a lot—when they wanted to tell the stories in different ways. Let's see Few Examples of these : The incident of Jesus and the question of eternal life. As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.” (MARK 10:17-18) Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?”Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments. (MATTHEW 19:16-17) Matthew seems to have been troubled by the implication of the statement “Why do you call me good?” and therefore re-phrased it (very slightly) to “Why do you ask me about what is good” so as to avoid the difficult implication that Jesus might be admitting to not being wholly ‘good. The last words of Jesus on the cross. And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”(MARK 15:34) Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”(LUKE 23:46) The Gospels of Mark and Luke record the last words of Jesus. In Mark, Jesus utters the blasphemous words of despair “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Luke’s account deletes these troubling words and replaces them with the far more submissive statement “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” Christians over the years, the vast majority of people are unaware of such changes. This is not surprising, because the Gospels are typically read in a vertical fashion. It’s only when you read them horizontally, comparing the accounts with each other side by side, that the changes become apparent. Evidently, the authors of the Gospels were sometimes troubled by one another’s depictions of Jesus and his disciples and made changes accordingly. These examples are important because they have serious implications for the doctrine of divine inspiration. The copying and modification between the Gospel authors implies they didn’t consider one another's writings to be inspired; otherwise, they wouldn't have omitted material, added their own and revised the wording. Even if one rejects the evidence for literary inter dependence,we still have the problem of the significant differences between the Gospel accounts. If the authors were writing under divine inspiration, then wouldn’t God have inspired them to record the same details We must conclude that the Gospel accounts themselves were not divinely inspired, but rather very human endeavours. _______________________________________ References : 1.
